We had the the letter read out last week - £3 per publisher is the cost in UK for the Org's insurance.
I wouldn't hesitate to claim if I had an accident if the KH was culpable - that's what the insurance is for!

by punkofnice ini seem to recall that there was an assistance fund set up for insurance on kingdom halls that were essentially set up as insurance.. where you were not to insure the khs by normal insurance companies.does anyone know about this and does any kh claim againt the fund i.e.
the watchtower?.

If you hadn't been "a Witness" according to her definition of the term, then she would not have given you a second thought as regards becoming your wife. So now that you have explained to her your knowledge of TTATT, you no longer possess the criteria for a potential marriage mate in her eyes - that is the simple truth of the matter!
You now have two clear choices - listen, obey and be blessed, by becoming everything she wants you to be, or go on without her and live a truthful life with a clear conscience - you can't do both!

i wonder if it is a jw.. to the best of my knowledge the following happened, but i did get a little excited during our intial conversation and what transpired later so i may not be recounting the facts correctly.. i went downstairs with my trusty sharpie in my pocket to answer the door.
at the door there was an older (~75 year-old) man in a suit and appeared to be in good health.

I know how you feel - I almost "lost it" in the KH car park when an older brother was trying justify the Org's lie that Romans 6:7 is talking about a person's physical death!!
I actually raised my voice a bit much and told him to read verses 2,4,6,8,10, & 11 to get the true context - it's a figurative death to one's former life course!
I told him a 14 year old kid could read it and discern the truth!!
Frustrating, isn't it??

A preist , Pastor , or minister of religion that uses the Bible or an i-pad , who in your eyes would command your respect .
by smiddy ini ask this because of an experience over the weekend when two witnesses came to my door , and he tried to use his i-pad to witness to me, which i wasnt intersted in.. my theory is this is going to backfire on them .
the majority of people in christendom , whether they practice it or not have a reverence , if not a deep respect for the written word , the bible , as a holy book.
a sacred book.. i dont beleive a householder who is a christian is going to be impressed by someone who quotes scriptures from an i-pad.. religous books have been considered sacred for centuries , their is an awe about them .

Printing literature by the WTBTS is going to decrease year on year, to save their idol - money - by getting Witnesses to persuade people to "download" literature for free.
I can already hear the deafening cry from brothers, "Well, it really makes financial sense doesn't it?". So does reducing your contributions!!

Just a possibility - I heard a few days ago (from an impeccable & trusted confidante) that a congregation south of London had sold their KH with all the necessary approval and advice from the RBC and that the contracts finalising the deal were to be signed imminently!
Out of the blue however, the Elders in that KH received a letter from the Britain Branch telling them to cancel the sale and sign nothing, and that all congregations would be receiving a letter soon.
No hints as to what this forthcoming letter will contain, but since the sale of a KH involves filthy lucre, it's odds-on that the letter is concerned with money/real estate acquisition!
So whatever happened to "let your YES mean YES"?????? I thought an Englishman's word (or a Christian's) was his bond?
Lovely witness given to the expectant buyers!! Just tell them it was a 'new light' on the subject!
